Velpeau or crepe tape is used to secure dressings for light support.
It's a stretch fabric bandage used to hold and protect a dressing, and in the event of bleeding, it can be used to compress a wound. It is also used to compress muscle tears and other injuries. Its length and width are variable, allowing it to be adapted to different uses.

It can be used to immobilize a joint in the event of a fracture, sprain or dislocation.
It helps maintain a bandage and limit movement in cases of tendonitis.
It is used in the hospital environment to protect perfusion dressings and sutured wounds from impact.
It isolates the dressing from dirt and contamination.
It is used for compression in the event of hemorrhage or bleeding.

Protected by individual cellophane wrapping, it is made from 100% cotton, woven from threads that have shrunk to give it a waffle-like appearance.

For optimum fixation, we recommend the use of plasters or elastic fasteners.

Tightening should not be too intense, as the bandage may block blood circulation.
Cut to length before fitting.
Alternatively, gently unroll the bandage.
Apply the bandage, maintaining variable tension according to the patient's indications.
If the patient feels heaviness or tingling, it's best to reapply the bandage, as it may be too tight.
Apply less pressure to avoid these sensations.
