Still little-known on our continent, Camu Camu has been used in the Peruvian Amazon for thousands of years. Camu Camu is a small tree growing up to three meters high, with small red-orange fruits. Camu Camu Guayapi is wildcrafted and harvested in the traditional way by the Shipibo tribe of Indians in the Ucayali region of Peru.
Camu Camu is the champion of Vitamin C: around 10g/100g, twice as much as Acerola or 50 times as much as Orange! It contributes to normal immune system function, reduces fatigue and is an antioxidant - protecting cells from oxidative stress.
Camu Camu is therefore a precious ally for getting through winter.
